15th CPLP Portuguese Language and Culture Day
On May 7, 2026, the 15th Edition of Portuguese Language and Culture Day in the CPLP took place at ELTE's Faculty of Humanities.
The Embassy co-organized the event with the Brazilian and Portuguese Embassies and ELTE's Department of Portuguese. Marking the CPLP's 30th anniversary, the event featured award-winning Mozambican writer Mia Couto, who delivered a lecture and received an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) from ELTE. The program included presentations on Mozambican history, literature, and languages, alongside Professor Ferenc Pál's presentation of the Hungarian translation of Eça de Queirós's Os Maias.
