Political Overview & 2026 Elections

On April 12, 2026, parliamentary elections saw a 79.56% voter turnout. The TISZA Party, led by Péter Magyar, won a 2/3 parliamentary majority, defeating the Fidesz Party.

Parliamentary Seat Breakdown (199 seats total):

• TISZA Party: 141 seats

• FIDESZ: 44 seats

• KDNP: 8 seats

• MI HAZÁNK: 6 seats
